Meet some of the Family

 Steve and Trish

Hello, my name is Trish and my husband is called Steve. We have two children, Hannah and Timothy. We moved to Torrington in 1996 and, as members of the Methodist Church sought out and started attending here. We think it's great because we have made lots of new friends and there are plenty of activities to get involved in, from Panto to parties to praise services. The children especially enjoy the annual trips to theme parks. As well as socially there is also a depth of fellowship within the church family which is very enriching and supportive. The worship, preaching and prayer is uplifting and challenging ensuring that we move forward to see new  horizons and to seek a fresh vision for our community, our Circuit and for the world.

John and Polly

We came to North Devon four years ago after John took early retirement. We immediately felt welcome from the first service we attended. Polly felt it was very like the church she was brought up in where everybody cares for each other and everyone is accepted for who they are. We did of course have to get to understand the local language before we could really get involved - we've been teased more than once for not understanding a word or pronouncing a name wrongly!!

TMC is a very active church with so much going on socially and spiritually that its just not possible to get involved in every event or activity that takes place - even for us retired folk. This is definitely a "CAN DO" church.

Trevor and Joan

Hello! My name is Trevor, I am fortunate enough to live in Great Torrington, in fact was born here - 66 years ago - so I feel that this safely allows me to say that I am a Torritonian. My wife is Joan, and we have been married for 43 years now. We have a daughter, Deborah, a son in law Peter, and two lovely grandchildren, namely Emily Jane who is now 10 years old, and Thomas James who is almost 6 years old, and they live in the house next to us.

Joan and I worship at the Methodist Church here in Great Torrington as did my father and mother and also my granddad and grandmother before them. Our church has recently been refurbished, with quite a lot of manual work being done by members of our own congregation. We are very proud of the church now that the work has been completed, and we are very privileged to be able to worship there, when ever we wish.
